alternative energy freezers

Thank you to all who gave very helpful leads on this topic.  I came across some more examples of the difficulties of running solar powered units while in India recently, though to be fair this was a procurement / maintenance issue more than the technology itself, which is of course sound. Also, gas/kerosene is apparently [...]

Film Digitizers

Hi all,
Does anyone have experiences (good and  bad) with film digitizers in Africa?  We have a pneumonia surveillance study here based at our of our rural field stations, and the PI and I are looking into digitizers, specifically any that do automatic calibration.  One unit we are looking at is the Sierra Advantage from Vidar.  [...]

Re: alternative energy freezers

refrigerated the vaccines.  Easy.  Small propane refrigerator.
Heck we have them in RV’s here in this country.

propane gas tanks. [...]

alternative energy freezers

Greetings friends.

Does anyone have comments / experience (good or bad!) with solar or kerosene powered cold chain equipment?
Any recommendations or other energy sources where there’s no mains electricity?
In the past, I have not found any of these to be wonderfully practical or appropriate and people seem to revert to mains power / generator [...]
