Hi Bill
Was hoping to hear from colleagues before responding, but here are some comments:
1. Why not explore all of these, as well as the World Bank and bilateral agencies ?
2. Suggestion: two sets of awards, one set judged by a panel of HTM/CE peers and the other by a panel representing the funding institutions, each panel using different criteria. Awards could be presented to individuals, public sector departments/institutions, NGO’s, etc. in categories that could change each year.
3. What we did was send out invites for entries to a broad range of practitioners, with all entries considered. A panel of judges scored the entries using criteria as follows:
Slogan Competition: Compliance with Theme / Framework; Creativity / “Catchiness”; Clarity of message / Unambiguity; Conciseness / Brevity
Case Studies: Compliance with Theme / Framework Originality; Clarity of Expression; Conciseness; Usefulness / Value; Transferability of Experience
4. Agree + see (2) above.
5. Ours was a one-off. Could Infratech dispense the awards ?
6. No need for travel – electronic bank transfer or cheque will work + recognition on a website that could be set up for purpose of awards (or use modified ‘htm-matters’ site).
7. I would say Yes – provided it’s well thought out and advances the cause of HTM/CE, especially in under-resourced environments.
8. Issues of language should also be addressed.
Comments?
Regards
Mladen
