I have gone back and looked at Jennifer’s
first email on this subject. We need to keep in mind the points
that she has made as we consider proposal and contacts with
CGI.
I think that what would be the best thing to come out of
participation in CGI would be getting the [...]

Dear Jennifer,
Thanks for disseminating those valuable
information. It is a fact as every one in the group has
agreed, that this noble initiative opens a window of
opportunities for Health Technology Management (HTM) and
Clinical Engineering. It is an opportunity to make known
the vital role that Clinical Engineering as a dicipline
plays in [...]

Hi Jennifer
In your initial message you mentioned your concern about “spreading the word” and
many participants like Bjorn and Calil noticed some similarities with other
initiatives while some others like Andrei and Yadin put in
evidence–again–the need for capacity building in developing countries. Let me
chip in by recalling the need for “vectors” I mean [...]

Dear Jennifer and Colleagues,
I suggest key people through WHO, PAHO, ACCE, IFMBE, etc. should be
there. These organizations have been working many years in this field and know the whole map of HTM. Another idea is help with real cases of each country to demonstrate real problems.
Not always the solution to a big problem [...]

Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for sharing this proposal. You can count on our support
this initiative for the action area Enhancing Access to Modern Technology.
Here in Peru, we certainly have much to do,
understanding that “Modern” means not “sophisticated” but appropriate
technology, and a major point to
consider is the waste of [...]

Thanks everyone. I will contact CGI and provide them with the names/organizations that have expressed interest. Hopefully, there will be an opportunity to shape the discussion and for at least for a few people
to participate.
To explain a little better, CGI is a 4-day conference consisting of large plenary sessions and smaller breakout sessions. [...]

Dear Jeniffer
This is a fantastic initiative. I could say now, at
least some influential people, besides WHO and PAHO, is joining our
efforts.
The objectives of the “Enhancing Access to Modern Technology –
Action Area” hardly differs from what Adriana and all us are trying to
reach for a long time on [...]

Dear All:
Following up with what has been said, I think Latin America has a lot
to offer and a lot to receive from the CGI. Telemedicine has been
quite active in the region and we are lacking harminization rulles
that could allow us to exchange information amongst our countries.
This is deffinetely an area for [...]
